To work in the merchandising department, especially in the garments/textile or retail industry, a combination of educational qualifications, skills, and sometimes certifications is beneficial.

✅ Educational Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum Requirement)

  • English Proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL for international buyers communication)

  • Product costing & pricing
  • Production planning & coordination
  • Communication with buyers/suppliers
  • Knowledge of fabrics, trims, garments
  • TNA (Time and Action) calendar handling
  • Tech pack understanding
  • Commercial documentation (LC, invoice, shipping)
